Pleadings & Response Clerk
About the Role:
The Pleadings & Response Clerk prepares, organizes, and tracks all responsive filings and default actions. They ensure every motion, answer, and procedural document is accurate, timely, and properly routed for attorney review.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft responsive pleadings (answers, motions to dismiss, etc.) for attorney review.
- Track filing deadlines for answers and procedural responses.
- Prepare default packets and monitor court responses.
- Proof and assemble exhibits and certificates of service.
- Maintain an index of all pleadings filed in each case.
- Communicate with the docketing and filing teams to coordinate submissions.
- Update CMS and case calendars after each filing or court order.
KPIs / Performance Metrics
- Response deadline compliance ≥ 99%.
- Draft accuracy audit score ≥ 98%.
- Pleading index current and complete for all active cases (100%).
- Zero unlogged defaults or late responses.
- Turnaround time ≤ 48 hours from assignment to draft (≥ 95%).
